We will provide you with all the necessary forms to be completed and returned to us before your child first day. All children must have these forms in their files and they will be updated every year. In addition you need to provide us with a copy of your child’s immunization records. All children must be current on their immunizations.
Our facility participates in the Contra Costa Child Care Council Food Program. You need to sign our enrollment form for their program to be updated once a year, in September.
You will need to give us 2 weeks notice to terminate care. If for any reason we can no longer care for your child we will give you 2 weeks notice.
We require a deposit of one week’s fee to be applied to the last week of our care for your child, provided you give Building Blocks 2 weeks notice. The deposit is due at the time you enroll your child in our daycare and is not refundable.
Only the persons designated on the identification form are allowed to pick the child up. If we have not met the person before, that person will be required to show a picture id before taking the child.
ADMISSION:
Each child should bring at least one change of clothing (pants, shorts, shirt or a dress, socks and underwear) Potty trainers will need more clothes and underwear.
If your child had an “accident” or the diaper leaks, we will put the soiled clothing in a plastic bag and send it home with you. We do not wash the clothes at daycare.
If your child is not yet potty trained you will need to provide the diapers. We will accept disposable diapers only. You may choose to bring a pack and leave it with us as this will be easier on you.
Each child needs to bring one big pack of baby wipes at the beginning of each month regardless of his or her age.
For nap time you will need to bring a sleeping bag, a pillow and a pillow case. Please label everything with your child’s name.

PRESCHOOL:
Our preschool year starts at the beginning of September and ends at the end May, after which we go into our summer program. We have different themes each month and focus on different numbers, letters and activities every week. You will be given an activity sheet at the beginning of every month. Our program is designed to introduce young children to school, teaching them many early childhood concepts.
Please help us by remembering the things that we ask you to bring on the days that they are needed. Your participation means a lot to us, we can not do it without you.

MISCELLANIOUS:
Birthdays are very special to us. We will definitely have a little party that day. Please let us know if you are planning to bring a cake or cupcakes.
Unless we are told not to do so all families’ names and phone numbers will be listed on a Parent Roster and upon request will be given to newly enrolled families.
In case of any custody disputes, unless one parent obtains a court order, Building Blocks has no choice but to release the child to either parent.
We have an open door policy¼ parents may drop in at any time. The only thing that we do recommend is not to stay for too long when dropping your child off if your child has a hard time separating.
We welcome your input, suggestions or discussions. We strongly believe in communicating with you parents. If you have any concern or questions pleased don’t hesitate to talk to us. We are very open to constructive criticism. We are here so that you can have a peace of mind when you are away from your child. With your help we are hoping to make your child’s first school experience a very very pleasant one.
Over time you will see that all of us here have become pretty tightly knit and try to help each other when ever we can. You are a part of us now..please don’t hesitate to ask if there is anything we can do to for you. Hard times and difficult situations are easier to overcome when you have a support network J
